Stephen Arthur Newell Sr.'s Obituary
Stephen (Steve) Arthur Newell, Sr., 70, passed away on February 19, 2015 at Good Shepherd Hospice House Sebring, Florida.Steve was an avid percussionist who started performing for Palm Beach High School band while in the fourth grade. Later, he served as a board member for the Palm Beach High School Historical Association. Steve was a retired Captain with the Palm Beach County Sheriff's office, where he served for 32 years. He was a founding member of the Symphonic Band of the Palm Beaches. Steve was cofounder of the Heartland Pops in Sebring, FL, where he was an active member. He will forever be in the hearts of his mother Marjorie Newell, partner Mary Anne Wandelt, siblings Reginald, Warren, and Janelle, children Stephen Jr. (Shelly), Andrea (Shawn), Stephanie (Steve), 12 grandchildren and former wife Marsha. A private family service will be held, at his request. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to: The Palm Beach High School Historical Association, Inc. P.O. Box 18456 West Palm Beach, FL 33416. Arrangements conducted by Palm Beach Memorial Park 3691 Seacrest Bld. Lantana, Florida 33462. Services will be private.
