Mr. Walter Stryjek Jr.'s Obituary
Mr. Walter Stryjeck, Jr. age 83 of Boynton Beach, Florida passed away peacefully on May 25, 2015 with his family at his bedside. Walter entered this world on November 8, 1931 in Cleveland, Ohio to his proud parents Mr. Walter Stryjek, Sr. and Mrs. Tillie (nee Inkaszewski) Stryjek. Walter served his Country proudly during the Korean Conflict Era serving in the United States Navy as a Petty Officer 3rd Class Pipe Fitter and he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the Good Conduct Medal and the Navy Occupation Service Medal (E). After his Honorable Discharge from the United States Navy, Walter began his career in the Telecommunication Industry. Walter moved to the South Florda area in 1966 because of his job in Cleveland, Ohio where he worked for Ohio Bell and then transferred to Southern Bell/AT&T as a Telephone Communication Specialist where he worked for over 30+ years. He then worked another 10+ years at FAU College as the Communication Manager keeping their phones up and running on campus before finally retiring to relax and enjoy his Golden Years with his family. Walter loved to bowl and was a member of the Universal League of Bowlers. He also loved to work in his garden keeping his veggie patch full of succulent plants. He was the kindest person you could meet, who possesed extreme patience and a methodical determination on and off the job in whatever endeavor he might be pursuing. He loved spending quality time with his family and friends. He will be forever loved and honored by his companion of thirty years, Collette Bishop; his two loved children, Therese Mach and her husband, Joseph and Douglas Stryjek and his wife, Theresa; his two loved step-children, Carla and Jim; five adored grandchildren, Douglas Stryjek, Jr., Monica Stryjek and her husband, Harold Tejada, Holly Stryjek, Joey Mach and Nick Mach; one precious great granddaughter, Savannah Celine Tejada-Stryjek; and his treasured cat, Felicia. Walter was met at the Gates of Heaven by his wife, Sarah Stryjek and his beloved cat, Missy. Family and friends will meet at 10:00 AM on Thursday, May 28, 2015 at Palm Beach Memorial Park Funeral Cemetery, 3691 Seacrest Boulevard, Lantana, Florida 33462, (561) 585-6444. The United States Navy will present Military Honors to his family at the Gravesite.
