Mr. Wilbur Hubert Bergen's Obituary
Mr. Wilbur Hubert Bergen age 88 of Boynton Beach, Florida passed away peacefully at The Bethesda East Hospital - Hospice of Palm Beach County Unit on February 4, 2015. Wilbur was born on March 6, 1926 in North Collins, New York to his parents, Mr. Martin Percy Bergen and Mrs. Olive Bergen. He moved to the Boynton Beach area twenty five years ago, coming from his former hometown of Buffalo, New York. Wilbur was a US Army Colonel serving during the World War II era. After serving in the United States Army, Mr. Bergen worked for the Tyco Corporation as a Design Engineer for many years until he retired. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) and the American Legion; as well as a member of the St. Johns Masonic Lodge of Buffalo, New York. He was an avid Golfer and loved to travel internationally with his wife. Wilbur was a kind and friendly person, but was very firm in his demeanor. He was the "Man of the House" and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Wilbur leaves to cherish his eternal memory a loving and devoted wife, Suzette Bergen; his admired grandson, Erik Battle; and his two adored great granddaugters, Lydia Battle and Erika Battle. Mr. Bergen was preceded in death by his daughter, Diane Battle in 1992. Wilbur's family will be holding a private Memorial to honor his memory.
