Mrs. Zola Agatha Hunt's Obituary
Mrs Zola Agatha Hunt age 85 of Boca Raton, Florida was called home on April 15, 2015 to join her husband, Hayden Benton Hunt in Heaven, whom has been waiting for her arrival since his passing on January 24, 1997. The two of them are eternally locked in an eternal embrace as they walk down the streets of gold together, through the pearly gates of heaven and into the courts of angels in the sight of God almighty and into the sight of his son, Jesus Christ. Zola began her earthly journey on August 20, 1929 in Kingston, Jamaica and was welcomed here by her loving parents, Mr. Frank Purchas and Mrs. Lorine (nee Reeves) Purchas. She moved to the United States of America in 1959 to begin her new life as an United States Citizen. She settled in the New York area for a while working at New York Hospital as an Administration Clerk and in later years she pursued a career in Private Duty Patient Care. She never forgot her roots from Jamaica and often showed off her Caribean Spice by cooking up a good dish of curried goat, codfish with ackee, jerked chicken or a savory roast beef or pot luck stew. Her food was good enough to knock your socks off with all of the tender loving care and her expert attention to detail in preparing it for family and friends. Her other favorite thing to do was to work around her yard planting beautiful flowers and plants to liven up her landscaping. However many days she enjoyed settling in to a recess of silence to meditate and spend quality time in transcendental thought and reflection about her life and all the arbitrary things that filled up her daily life. Her greatest love was going to Church and getting her praise on in the East Chester Presbyterian Church in New York where she formaly resided and most recently at the Grace Presbyterian Church in Hypoluxo, Florida where she spent many Sunday mornings paying homage to her personal Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ for all of the good gifts that he had bestowed upon her such as a beautiful family of children and grandchildren to bring happiness into her life. Mrs. Hunt never let life's day to day challenges trump her zeal for life! She lived up to the spiritual quote in the book of Proverbs 31:10-31, "10 Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies. 11 The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil. 12 She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life. 13 She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands. 14 She is like the merchants' ships; she bringeth her food from afar. 15 She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens. 16 She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard. 17 She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms. 18 She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth not out by night. 19 She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff. 20 She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy. 21 She is not afraid of the snow for her household: for all her household are clothed with scarlet. 22 She maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing is silk and purple. 23 Her husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth among the elders of the land. 24 She maketh fine linen, and selleth it; and delivereth girdles unto the merchant. 25 Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come. 26 She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness. 27 She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness. 28 Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her. 29 Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all. 30 Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised. 31 Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates". She will be forever loved and honored by her three loved children, Trevor Lettman, Marie Fishley and Hayden A. Hunt; her nine adored grandchildren, David McDowell, Angelica Fishley, Doneisha Fishley, Geneva Fishley, Tiffani Fishley, Judah Zurak, Ivana Zurak, Katherine McClaren and her newest expectation on the way; great grandsons and great granddaughters, Alfonso Dame Ramos and Raiden McClaren and Katherine McClaren and Zuma McClaren; and her numerous loved nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends. A Visitation has been scheduled for Wednesday, April 29, 2015 from 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM at the Palm Beach Memorial Park Funeral Home, 3691 Seacrest Boulevard, Lantana, Florida 33462, (561) 586-1237.
