Caridad Sarnovsky's Obituary
Caridad "Cari" Sarnovsky, age 87, of Delray Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully on June 20, 2024. Born on June 6, 1937, in Havana, Cuba, Cari immigrated to the United States in the early 1960s. It was during this time that she met her husband, Joseph Sarnovsky (1921-1984), in Washington, D.C. They married in June 1962, and lived in Bethesda, MD, Miami, FL, and Boynton Beach, FL until Joseph's passing.
Cari dedicated her professional life to the insurance industry. Before retiring, Cari worked at Plastridge Insurance in Delray Beach. Cari's love and legacy continue through her family. She is survived by her loving daughters, Yvonne Simmons and Michelle Valencia; her cherished grandchildren, Krystal Mevers (Jeff), Josh Valencia, Kevin Simmons, and Kelsey Valencia; and her adored great-granddaughter, Madelyn Rose Mevers. She is also survived by her nieces Sonia Walker (Joe), Christy Feliu, Laura Bertran (Gail), and nephew, Jorge Bertran (Jan). Cari was predeceased by her sister Maria Julia Bertran and her brother Jose Alvarez. Cari lived a full life, enriched by her devotion to her family, unwavering faith, and the countless friendships she nurtured throughout her years.
A celebration of life will be held on July 6, 2024, at First Church of Boynton Beach (101 N. Seacrest Blvd., Boynton Beach, FL) from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Cari's memory to the Alzheimer’s Association, continuing her lifelong commitment to helping others.
