I met Mr. Dyer in the mid 1960s. He and my late husband were co-workers but became the "best of friends". This long-lasting trustful friendship was like "family". I refer to him as Mr. Dyer, because of my Jamaican upbringing, and respect for "elders", could not bring myself to be on a first name basis even though he and my husband were. I have only joyful memories, much laughter, delicious meals, political discussions, domino games in Jamaica, New York, New Jersey and finally, Florida. I will miss hearing his voice, his laughter this year when I mistakenly congratulated him on his 98th birthday.,playing the harmonica to wish me a happy birthday, but I know he is at rest, and reunited with Mrs. Dyer and other family.
To his children, Ailine, Roy, Courtney and their families, please accept my heartfelt sympathy and just think how blessed you are to have had him all these years. May the Lord comfort you at this time
