Cleveland Samuel Dyer's Obituary
Cleveland Samuel Dyer passed away peacefully on May 12, 2023 at the Assisted Living wing of the Brookdale West Boynton Beach Senior Living Community in Boynton Beach Florida at the age of 99. He was born on March 21, 1924 in Richmond in the Parish of St. Mary, Jamaica West Indies to Virginia Sinclair and L.C Dyer. He was married to the late Florence Somerville Dyer in 1955 until her passing on December 26, 2016.
Cleveland was an officer in the Jamaican police force in the 1940s before joining the Ministry of Housing. After Jamaica was hit by the deadliest Atlantic hurricane, Charlie in 1951, he was assigned to the newly formed Hurricane Housing Organization (HHO) to rebuild many rural Parishes with funding from foreign organizations. After retirement from the Ministry of Housing he migrated to the United States where he earned his Certificate of Naturalization on June 4th 1992. Cleveland was God fearing and was an active member at the Lyndhurst Methodist Church in Jamaica and the St. Lukes Methodist Church in Lake Worth Florida.
Cleveland leaves behind many family and friends. Foremost among them are daughter Aline Dyer; sons Courtney and Fitzroy Dyer; daughters in law Carol Dyer and Althea, and close family friend Christine Gurganus; sister Winnifred Cole; grandchildren Camille Dyer, Keisha Dyer-Hawkins, Jacque Dyer, Nikeisha Dyer, Courtney Dyer Jr; the late Patricia Mathis; great grandchildren Corey Dyer, Shaniece Dyer, sister Winnifred Cole; nieces Carol Stamp, Colleen Meliphant-Sanders, Marion and Mary Cole; nephews Devon Aspinell, Donavan Stamp; great grandson Jacckson D Hawkins, Charles Hawkins; great great grandchildren Shaniece Dyer, Corey Dyer: great great great children Kaleb Hughes

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 2, 2023 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Palm Beach Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, June 3, 2023 11:00 am at Palm Beach Memorial Park Funeral Home. Followed by entombment on Saturday, June 3, 2023 at Palm Beach Memorial Park Mausoleum.
