Cynthia Holley Plockelman's Obituary
Cynthia Holley Plockelman, age 83, passed away Aug 9, 2021 after a valiant struggle with dementia. She was born in West Palm Beach on June, 1938 to Raymond H Plockelman Sr and Grace Holley Plockelman. Cynthia attended the local schools : Southboro Elementary, Conniston and Palm Beach High, The school on the hill. After graduation she attended Florida State University and then continued her education at Emory University. She graduated with a Masters Degree in Political Science. She was always was a political activist!
Cynthia was interested in many things but especially Florida and Palm Beach County. She was a Forty year employee of South Fla Water Management as their librarian.
She was a true conservationist. Interested in native plants and wildlife especially in Palm Beach County. She was a founding member of Palm Beach Native Plant society, a member of the Audbuon Club, belonged to the Forum Club and enjoyed many other activities. Especially taking pride in her Florida Native yard.
At one time she was owner of Two on A Shelf Bookstore. And always enjoyed collecting books . Especially birds and wildlife and politics!
Cynthia is survived by her sister Margaret Richardson and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her beloved brother Raymond who took care of her for many years during her illness, and her elder sister Patricia Winters.
She will be interred next to her mother at Hillcrest Memorial at a date to be determined.
