I didn't know Mr. Burnett well because I only met him and his wife once, but I found out very fast that he and his sweet wife were very kind, caring people and that they took great pride in their son, Owen Grant Burnett and loved him very much......I was Owen Burnett's secretary in the Livingston District Attorney's office and they came to visit Owen and see where he worked and unfortunately a problem came up in the district and Owen was called away and so after they looked around his office and took pictures of his certificates on the wall, etc., our Probation Officer Leigh Smith and I took them to lunch and then to one of our favorite stores to shop, Hall's Thrift Store in Livingston........they seemed to enjoy prowling around in there as much as we did and to make us feel better probably, Mr. Burnett bought himself a shirt that he found, then we drove around and showed them a little bit of Livingston, the town in which Owen worked. Leigh and I both enjoyed the afternoon with Mr. and Mrs. Burnett very much and I am sorry that I did not get to see and know them both better.
Owen and family, your loss is Heaven's gain and I am sure all the Angels in Heaven rejoiced when they welcomed another Angel, Owen Victor Burnett, Jr., home!
