Mr. Peter Elson Spiller's Obituary
Mr. Peter Elson Spiller age 94 of Boynton Beach, Florida was piped home on April 7, 2015. Mr. Spiller was born in England on March 2, 1921 and moved to the United States and in 1961 gained his United States Naturalization status and he settled in the Lansing, Michigan area for a number of years before moving to the Boynton Beach area of Florida. While living in England during the World War II Era, Peter served his Country proudly in the Royal Engineers British Expeditionary Force from 1939 until 1944 fighting at the Battle of Dunkirk and serving in the North Africa Campaign. He was an active member of the American-Scottish Society of Palm Beach County. Peter was presented the Jack Gibb Award in 2006 and proudly wore the medal on many occasions. He also liked to work with his hands building things for his home and spending time in his garden. Peter was also an avid reader and he enjoyed photography. Peter leaves behind to cherish his memory his step-daughter, Carolyn Johnson and husband, John Johnson and his son, Trevor Spiller and wife, Sue Spiller; and his three treasured grandchildren. Family and friends will gather and pay respects on Sunday, April 12, 2015 from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM at Palm Beach Memorial Park Funeral Home, 3691 Seacrest Boulevard, Lantana, Florida 33462, (561) 586-1237. A Graveside Service will be held 1:00 PM, Sunday, April 12, 2015 at Palm Beach Memorial Park Cemetery, 3691 Seacrest Boulevard, Lantana, Florida 33462, (561) 585-6444 with Reverend Bill Burkett officiating.
